The theme was a little confusing at first, but after seeing GLINT and GLITTER, I realized that every light-associated word we were looking for started with the letter G.
There was no room for sparkles or sparkles in this bunch of G-words back then.
The spangram was harder to spot, but with “light” not among the game words, I worked backwards to find “catch” and then CATCHTHELIGHT.

Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-anymore word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a full-fledged member of NYT’s game stable that’s been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
