MSTR buys 34,164 BTC for $2.54 billion

Michael Saylor’s strategy (MSTR) added 34,164 bitcoin to his treasury over the past week at an average price of about $74,395 per share. coin, at a total cost of about $2.54 billion, according to a Monday report.

The purchase brings the company’s total holdings to 815,061 BTC, acquired for approximately $61.56 billion at an average cost basis of $75,527. With BTC currently trading at around $75,000, Strategy’s cache is currently breaking even. Strategy is the world’s largest publicly traded bitcoin holder. It started acquiring BTC as a balance asset in 2020.

Last week’s acquisition was funded by $2.2 million raised through the sale of the company’s preferred stock, Stretch (STRC), and $366 million from common stock offerings.

MSTR shares are down more than 2.5% in pre-market trading.
