- Crimson desert version 1.04.00 has been released, the biggest update yet
- The patch adds three difficulty levels, new inventory content, and more
- Pearl Abyss has also teased a new boss replay feature coming soon
Pearl Abyss has published Crimson desert‘s biggest update yet, which adds a ton of new content while also teasing more to come.
Version 1.04.00 is now available across PlayStation, Xbox and PC via Steam and Epic Games, but will be rolled out to Mac at a later date.
The biggest takeaway from the patch is the addition of Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty modes, the latter of which the studio said is “for experienced Greymanes looking for more intense and exciting battles,” which will offer a greater challenge.

Easy mode will make it so that any damage taken by the player is reduced, as well as the maximum health, aggressiveness and overall speed of all enemies.
There’s also an extended timing window for parrying and dodging, and the mode also reduces the frequency of bosses trying to counterattack or escape when hit.
Normal mode is what you would expect, a balanced experience and what players have been used to since the game launched, while Hard mode introduces increased damage taken by the player, increased maximum health, aggressiveness and overall speed of opponents for enemies, reduced timing window for parry, dodge and invincibility duration for throws.
The frequency of bosses trying to counterattack or flee when hit has also been increased, and some bosses also have additional battle patterns.

Speaking of which, Pearl Abyss has also teased a new boss replay mode that would allow players to “confront the bosses of their choice,” a feature that will be added “soon.”
In addition to a host of improved UI, quality of life and performance improvements, the patch also adds new inventory content, including the Sturdy Gatherables Chest with 1000 slots, which can be configured with the house system.
There’s also the Kuku Cooler and Enhanced Kuku Cooler, which offer 40 and 330 slots respectively, and a collectible chest that has 1000 slots.
A clothes storage function for the wardrobe is also available, which provides 100 places.
“Each wardrobe has 100 storage slots and the total storage capacity increases based on the number of wardrobes placed,” Pearl Abyss explained, but the maximum outfit storage capacity is 1000 slots.
You can check out the full patch notes here, which also note a new ‘Select House’ option which allows players to change the layout of their house, an improved Greymane Camp, five new types of cat pets, the ability to have birds as pets and more.
