A live televised debate turned chaotic as leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) clashed and exchanged punches and kicks during the broadcast.
The confrontation took place between PTI’s Naeem Haider Panjotha and PML-N’s Ikhtiar Wali Khan on a private TV channel’s political talk show.
Videos of the fight have gone viral on social media and have attracted a lot of attention.
The argument began with an exchange of harsh words and accusations.
As tensions escalated, both leaders engaged in a physical fight, grabbing each other’s collars and landing punches, as seen in the widely circulated footage.
Despite repeated attempts by the show’s host to defuse the situation, the fight continued until the production team intervened.
This is not the first instance of political leaders in Pakistan resorting to violence during direct debates. In previous incidents, PML-N Senator Afnan Ullah and PTI MNA Sher Afzal Marwat, as well as PTI’s now deceased Naeem-ul-Haq and PML-N’s Daniyal Aziz, were involved in on-air altercations.
Social media users have reacted strongly to the incident, and many have criticized the politicians’ lack of decorum and professionalism.
