Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf has emphasized the importance of maintaining perpetual combat readiness to effectively address both traditional and non-traditional challenges in the maritime domain.
Chairing the Pakistan Navy Command and Staff Conference at the Naval Headquarters, the CNS emphasized the vital role of the Pakistan Navy in ensuring peace, stability and regional maritime security, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Public Relations (Navy).
He highlighted that the PN provides security to the maritime community through its presence in the Gulf of Oman.
Against the background of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, CNS noted new threats in the maritime domain, including freedom of navigation, potential disruption of vital sea lines of communication (SLOCs) and unstable maritime security situation across strategic choke points.

The forum also celebrated the one year anniversary of Marka-e-Haq and paid tribute to the sacrifices made during the conflict in May 2025.
The naval chief noted the historic triumph as a lasting proof of national unity and unwavering resolve to defeat any external aggression with an iron fist. The forum carried out a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness, ongoing initiatives and upcoming events.
Discussions remained focused on aligning naval priorities with evolving regional maritime security imperatives to chart a clear course for Ops readiness across multiple domains of naval warfare.
The Command and Staff Conference is the apex decision-making forum of the Pakistan Navy, where the Chief of Naval Staff, General Staff Officers and Field Commanders discuss strategic priorities and policies.
