- One UI 8.5 has started rolling out to four more Samsung phones
- These include the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36
- The update brings AirDrop support to Quick Share, among other things
Samsung’s rollout of One UI 8.5 continues as, following the launch on the Samsung Galaxy S25 series and some other models on May 6, it is now coming to four more Samsung phones.
These – as spotted by SamMobile across a number of articles – include the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung Galaxy A56 and Samsung Galaxy A36. This software has already made its way to newer Samsung foldables, but this is the first time we’ve seen it on any Galaxy A models.
Initially, though, only South Korea will get the One UI 8.5 update on these phones, but it’s likely based on past form that other countries will also get it over the next few days, so keep an eye out if you have one of these handsets.
You’ll likely get a notification when the update is available, but you can manually check in Settings > Software Update > Download and Install.
AirDrop and more
One UI 8.5 brings several new features and improvements – although not all will necessarily be available on all phones.
The headline feature is undoubtedly AirDrop support over Quick Share, but there are other improvements to Quick Share and to Photo Assist, as well as a more efficient power saving mode, security improvements and tweaks to the Weather app, My Files app and more.
So it’s an update worth downloading as soon as it’s available, and if you have one of the four phones above, it should be available very soon.
