Fire breaks out at three points in Margalla Hills

ISLAMABAD:

A fire broke out at three separate points in Margalla Hills behind Sector F-5, prompting a large-scale response by the district administration, with more than 65 people involved in fire-fighting operations.

Officials said strong winds spread the fire to multiple locations, complicating the efforts of rescue and firefighting teams. The district administration confirmed that personnel remained actively deployed at all affected locations to contain the fire and prevent further spread over the hills.

According to authorities, challenging wind conditions have slowed operations and limited access to certain areas. However, the teams are continuously working to bring the situation under control and minimize damage.

As a precautionary measure, all hiking trails in the Margalla Hills are temporarily closed. Citizens have been advised to avoid visiting the area until the fire-fighting work is complete.

The district administration urged the public to cooperate with emergency services and stay away from the hills to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted rescue effort and warned that changing wind patterns could further escalate the risk of fire spreading.

Officials said monitoring of the affected zones is ongoing and further updates will be issued once the fire is fully extinguished.
