From prayers to sacrifice, Muslims around the world mark Eid ul Adha

Millions of Muslims around the world observe Eid ul Adha with special prayers, family gatherings and animal sacrifices.

The festival, also known as the “Feast of the Sacrifice”, celebrates the devotion and obedience of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

From Asia to the Middle East, Europe and Africa, mosques and public spaces are filled with worshipers offering Eid prayers and exchanging greetings of peace and happiness.

Communities also participate in the traditional sacrifices of animals, with meat distributed among relatives, neighbors and people in need.

Governments in several countries have announced public holidays and increased security measures to support the celebrations.
