The Traitors New Zealand is finally back for a third season after being put on hold last year. Madeleine Sami takes over hosting duties from Paul Henry, who will not be part of Season 3.
A total of 21 contestants will play the game of trust and betrayal, but above all strategy, for a chance to win real money. They are divided into two groups – Believers and Traitors – and the latter are secretly selected by the host.
Each night, the traitors decide which faithful contestant will be eliminated, forcing them to leave the show. At the end of each day, all participants gather around the round table to discuss and decide who they think the traitors might be in an attempt to eliminate them.
If all the traitors are eliminated by the end of the show, the remaining prize pool will be distributed among the surviving faithful. But if even one traitor survives to the end, they will take home the entire prize pool.
Like the previous two seasons, Season 3 of The Traitors NZ was filmed at Claremont Castle in Timaru. The season is expected to run for 10 episodes, with two episodes released each week starting on May 31, 2026. The finale is expected to air on June 28.
