Seven years after the last installment, Toy Story 5 is almost ours. This time the toy takes on the world of technology and asks if the two can co-exist in young children’s lives, or if technology automatically wins.
Our new “villain” comes in the form of Lilypad (Greta Lee), a kid-friendly tablet who’s convinced she’s besting the gang’s new kid, Bonnie.
We’ve got a release date for it, with Jessie (Joan Cusack), Buzz (Tim Allen) and Woody (Tom Hanks) hitting theaters worldwide on June 19. But what about the new movie hitting one of the top streaming services, Disney+?
Does Toy Story 5 have a Disney+ release date yet?
Look at
As I have said, the theatrical release date of Toy Story 5 is June 16th, so it will be a while before it comes out on Disney+.
When can that be? I don’t have any inside information, but my best guess is that it will drop in early October.
But why then? Typically, Disney releases its first-party movies on its primary streamer about three months after they launch in theaters.
Some have come to the service earlier or later than expected, but that’s usually the result of them underperforming at the global box office (which can lead to an earlier streaming release) or if they’re still making money through ticket sales (so they’re left in theaters for longer).
It is very likely too Toy Story 5 doing well in theaters, so a longer theatrical release window feels likely—so I’m going with four months, and therefore early-mid October.
How long is Toy Story 5?
Toy Story 5 has an official driving time of 1 hour and 42 minutes. This makes it the second-longest film in the entire franchise, trailing only one minute Toy Story 3 (1 hour and 43 minutes).
It’s not yet clear if the new film will have a post-credits scene included in this one, but considering it’s a Disney film, my advice is to keep your eyes open.
