Six terrorists killed in Panjgur IBO: ISPR

Recover weapons, ammunition, IEDs, vehicles from terrorists, says military media wing

Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) on June 3 and 4 in Panjgur district of Balochistan and killed six Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security forces conducted the IBO “on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna al-Hindustan.” It added that during the operation, the security forces “effectively engaged several terrorist locations”, killing the six terrorists after intense exchanges of fire.

According to the ISPR, arms, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and vehicles were also recovered from the terrorists “who remained actively involved in several terrorist activities in the area.”

“Decontamination operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area,” the statement added.

The terror campaign, under Azm e Istehkam’s vision (as endorsed by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan) of security forces and law enforcement agencies in Pakistan, will “continue at full speed to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement concluded.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for successfully conducting an operation against Indian-backed Fitna-al-Hindustan terrorists in Panjgur, which resulted in the killing of six militants.

In separate statements, both leaders said operations against terrorists under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would continue till their logical conclusion.

Reaffirming the nation’s determination to eliminate terrorism, President Zardari stated that Fitna-al-Hindustan and its facilitators would never succeed in undermining Pakistan’s peace and stability.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for neutralizing the terrorists who, he said, planned to harm lives and property of innocent and unarmed Pakistani citizens.

The Prime Minister also reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicate terrorism from the country and ensure lasting peace and security.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has praised the security forces for a successful operation in Panjgur.

He lauded the forces for their bravery and professionalism after six Indian-sponsored terrorists were eliminated in a timely action that foiled their nefarious designs.

Naqvi hailed the security forces and said operations against such elements in Balochistan were highly commendable. He added that the nation stands with the security forces in the fight against terrorism.

Earlier, security forces killed 17 terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan during a series of IBOs conducted across several districts of Balochistan following the May 24 train incident, ISPR had stated on Tuesday.

The operations were carried out in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar and Ketch districts as part of an intensified counter-terrorism operation.

The media wing had also revealed that a large cache of arms, ammunition, explosives and prepared IEDs were recovered from the slain terrorists.
