Looking for a different day?
A new NEW Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone – meaning some people always play ‘today’s game’ while others play ‘yesterday’s’. If you’re looking for Friday’s puzzle instead then click here: NEW Strand’s Hints and Answers for Friday, June 5 (Game #824).

NEW Strands today (game #825) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #825, are…
- MARRIAGE
- NUPTIALS
- UNLOCKED
- LIFTING
- Marriage
- SPANGRAM: TYINGTHEKNOT
- My assessment: Easy
- My score: Perfect
With the exception of a spangram that started and finished on the same side of the grid, this was a straightforward game to work out.
Like many, I expect, my first thought was Marriage, and it was an easy place on the board to find the double-R.
NUPTIALS is a word I’ve never given much thought to, but it’s a good one to describe all the overall (and costly) rigmarole of a wedding day – and it also includes the least romantic document a soon-to-be-married couple can sign, the prenuptial agreement.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Friday, June 5, Game #824)
- SCRAP
- BATTLE
- SKIRMISH
- CLASH
- BATTLE
- NEIGHBORHOOD
- SPANGRAM: FIGHT WORDS
