It’s back! Amazon Australia has officially announced the dates for Prime Day, which again lasts 7 days, starting at 12.00 on Tuesday 7 July and ends at 23.59 on Monday 13 July.
This comes about a week earlier than we expected, as the sale event is usually held in mid-July. That’s okay though, because it’s still more or less on schedule and starts on a Tuesday as usual.
The reason we think Amazon is holding its Prime Day sale a little early this year is because the same event is happening on the 23rd-26th. June in other countries (like the US, UK and Singapore), but as we just wrapped up our very own mid-year sale last week (June 1-7), it’s understandable that the retail giant doesn’t want to follow it up quickly with its biggest shopping event.
Speaking of mid-year sales, if you missed some of the deals from the event, we’re still covering the best EOFY deals live this month, but we fully expect Prime Day to bring even better discounts on tech. We’re keeping an eye on the prices of the best headphones, best tablets, best cameras and more, and we’ve got all the deals listed in our Prime Day hub.
We also expect to see discounts from brands like Apple, Samsung, Dyson and more, as well as Amazon’s own range of products like Kindle readers, Echo smart speakers and Ring video doorbells.
As usual, we expect the best prices to be exclusive to Amazon Prime members, although there will also be widely available discounts. If you’re interested but not yet a Prime member, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial. If you only sign up for the event, you’ll still be eligible for Prime Day deals even if you cancel your membership immediately after.
Otherwise, it will cost AU$9.99 per month to remain a Prime member after your free trial, or AU$79 for an annual membership. Other benefits you can get with a Prime membership are the Prime Video streaming service, Amazon Music and Amazon Luna gaming.
Get ready for Prime Day
With the number of offers we expect to see in the thousands, browsing the Amazon Australia website can be overwhelming. The good news is that we’ll help you find the best tech deals in real time and have them all listed in our dedicated live Prime Day hub. You’ll want to check in often so you don’t miss out on some of the best discounts, as some of them will go live in a flash and sell out very quickly.
Amazon Prime Day is one of the retailer’s biggest and best sales events in Australia in recent years, and it’s up there with Black Friday, EOFY and the other Prime Day event we expect to see sometime in October.
