- A certification list has been discovered for a device believed to be the Garmin Cirqa
- It lists Bluetooth as the only connectivity option, suggesting this won’t have Wi-Fi or GPS
- That puts it in line with rival screenless wearables
If you’ve been looking forward to the Garmin Cirqa, we’ve got some slightly disappointing but not surprising news – it looks like this screenless wearable will be missing ANT+, GPS and Wi-Fi.
This is according to a certification listing for an entity believed to be Cirqa found on the Integrated Regulatory Information System (IRIS) in Singapore, as seen by The5kRunner (via NotebookCheck).
The listing just reveals Bluetooth for connectivity, which means the Garmin Cirqa – assuming that’s what this is – needs to be paired with a nearby smartphone to track things like distances and routes when running or cycling.
So if you prefer to work out without your phone, this rumor might not be for you.
To put it in line with the competition
While that’s a shame, it’s not really surprising given that competing screenless devices like the Fitbit Air and Whoop 5.0 also lack built-in GPS.
But that means Cirqa is likely to fall in line with them, rather than rise above them. This could have been a clear differentiator that would help Garmin’s upcoming device beat its main rivals, but the brand doesn’t seem to have seized this opportunity.
Still, for those who already wear a Garmin watch, or just like the Garmin brand but want something without a screen, the Cirqa will probably still be the obvious choice, so there’s likely to be a built-in audience for it.
We’ll likely find out exactly what the Garmin Cirqa has to offer — and whether it has other ways to stand out — soon, with previous leaks pointing to a mid-2026 launch.
