Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Thursday, where the two sides discussed regional developments and stressed the importance of continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
In a post at X, MoFA said the two foreign ministers discussed regional developments and stressed the importance of continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
According to the ministry, Abdelatty appreciated Pakistan’s continued mediation efforts, while both leaders expressed hope that ongoing efforts would lead to an early understanding between the parties and contribute to lasting regional peace and stability.
The MoFA said Abdelatty also extended an invitation to the Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister to attend the upcoming meeting of the four regional (R-4) Foreign Ministers in Egypt later this month, which the DPM/FM accepted.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact, the ministry added.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Dar emphasized the importance of developing a competitive, innovative and sustainable automotive ecosystem.
He emphasized that such a system could support economic growth, improve industrial capacity, create skilled jobs and promote environmental sustainability through a future-ready automotive sector.

Dar chaired a high-level meeting to review the auto and auto parts policy with a special focus on accelerating Pakistan’s transition to electric vehicles (EVs), the DPM’s office said in a statement.
The committee was briefed on measures to promote EV adoption and strengthen domestic production.
