NEW Strands today (game #832) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #832, are…
- MUSIC
- SONG
- QUEUE
- LYRICS
- SPEAKER
- MICROPHONE
- SPANGRAM: KARAOKE
- My assessment: Easy
- My score: Perfect
“Resident event” – it’s athletics right? Scar, no.
Fortunately, the spangram – KARAOKE – was very hard to miss, so I didn’t have to work looking for the shot put, discus and javelin. Instead, our search turned to musical words.
I’ve always avoided KARAOKE, both having to sing – which is a nightmare – and also the horror of people murdering some of the greatest songs of all time. It’s pretty hard to avoid in TV shows though; recently I sat through Alfred Molina’s experiment Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen in the otherwise enjoyable Boroughs. At least I think it was Thunder Road. This is the kind of thing that should come with a warning before you start watching.
Anyway, I digress… the game was easy, made even easier by a few long puns in MICROPHONE and LOUDSPEAKER.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Friday, June 12, Game #831)
- BODY
- POINT
- HOOK
- SUBJECT
- PROBLEM
- CONCLUSION
- SPANGRAM: PARTS OF SPEECH
