Light rain was reported in various parts of Karachi, with drizzle affecting several areas across the metropolis late on Sunday evening.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, University Road and Sohrab Goth experienced intermittent drizzle during the prevailing weather conditions.
Rain was also reported on Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Rashid Minhas Road and adjoining areas, extending light rainfall activity to additional parts of the metropolis.
Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) daily forecast stated that a seasonal low had hovered over northern Balochistan and adjoining areas.
A westerly wave affected the upper parts of the country, while moist currents from the Arabian Sea also penetrated the central and southern regions.
It said mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country, while partly cloudy conditions were likely over the upper hilly areas.
Dust and thundershowers were expected in central Punjab, Potohar region and southern Balochistan, including Awaran, Panjgur, Khuzdar and Kech, during the forecast period.
The forecast added that hot and dry conditions were expected to continue in most areas; however, rain-wind and thundershowers were expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.
