Freddy, the German soccer fan who has gone viral live-tweeting his adventure experience in the US, has another big visit on his schedule.
Ambassador Nick Adams, who is the special presidential envoy for Americans, tourism, exceptionalism and values in the Trump administration, confirmed to Pakinomist Digital that Freddy has been invited to the White House.
Adams said he caught Freddy early on during his trip to America and immediately became a “massive fan.” Adams called Freddy’s trip to the United States a “fabulous thing for our country.”

“Freddy is one of hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to the United States and experience the incredible hospitality and generosity of the American people,” Adams told Pakinomist Digital in a recent phone interview.
“There’s no place like America. We’re the biggest, loudest, most exciting destination on earth. And the things like unlimited chips and salsa, Buc-ee’s, Bass Pro Shops, Route 44s at Sonic delivered by young men and women on roller skates delivered right to your car door. These are all experiences and opportunities that you can’t get in another country, but are really different in a country of 50 countries.”
Adams said he knew he had to reach out when Freddy declared his love for Country Music star Ella Langley.
“I think it was Ella Langley’s statement that he was a big Ella Langley fan. I am, too. And I thought this is exactly the kind of guy taken to America. What a great ambassador for our country. What a great person to have represented what America is really like,” Adams said.

Freddy was invited to Langley’s concert on Thursday night and got to meet her. Visiting Langley was one of many surreal experiences the German soccer fan has experienced during his trip to America.
The German football fan and his two friends have been given tours of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans facilities, been put up at a hotel by Houston Texans great JJ Watt, toured LSU and Tiger Stadium, hung out with the Houston Police Department, met the mayor of Houston and toured the International Space Station with NASA.
Adams, who has family who is German and speaks the language fluently, said he was able to connect with Freddy and invite him to a tour of the State Department, the White House and an opportunity to see “the most beautiful capital in the world” in Washington DC. Adams said it was important to recognize Freddy as someone who is not from America but still loves the country.
“I think it’s really important that we recognize people who really love and appreciate our country who are not Americans. People who really come here and feel a great affection for the American people and the American way of life and all the things that make us so unique and so exceptional,” Adams said.
“Americans are the most hospitable people, and as an ambassador for tourism, the United States Secretary of Tourism, it is incumbent upon me to exemplify that very hospitality by inviting Freddy to come and have an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime experience to see the interior of the White House up close.”

Adams said he hasn’t spoken to President Donald Trump about Freddy yet, but he knows the German fan will be “very welcome.”
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to the president about it yet, but the president is usually aware of a lot of what’s going on. That much I can assure you. I think Freddy will be most welcome.
Freddy is one of many fans getting an incredible first experience in America through their World Cup journey. Adams is thrilled that the world is now getting an unfiltered view of what foreigners think of America.
“No one puts on a show like America and no one is as kind and as welcoming and as hospitable as the American people. I’m just so glad that the slander of America and the American people by many of the international news media and by people with a vested interest in attacking America who are envious of us, now through social media, which is a direct unfiltered view of what people were saying,” Adams said.
“We get the true story and the true feelings of ordinary people from all over the world about America and about the American people.”

Calling America’s hospitality the “gold standard of the industry,” Adams said the World Cup has helped dispel so many preconceptions about the country.
“That American hospitality is the gold standard of the industry. That instead of hearing fake news stories about how terrible America is and how unsafe it is and how expensive it is and how inhospitable and inhospitable Americans are to people from other countries. We always knew that was absolute nonsense. And now we have very solid evidence and evidence from these German tourists, from all the Japanese tourists who have come here for the World Cup,” Adams said.
“We’re second to none. We’re second to none. We’re second to none in scenery and offerings. Whatever you’re into, whatever you like, America has it.”
