The US men’s national team wasted little time getting back on the scoreboard.

Auston Trusty scored his first international goal just three minutes into Thursday’s game against Turkey, converting a corner kick to give the Americans a 1-0 lead at Los Angeles Stadium.

The goal was the second fastest the USA has scored from the opening kick in World Cup history.

It also moved the U.S. one step closer to a perfect group stage campaign. The Americans entered Thursday looking for a third straight win after defeating Paraguay 4-1 and shutting out Australia 2-0 in their first two games.

Christian Pulisic started the group stage final on the bench, but was available as a substitute. The USMNT star has been dealing with a left calf injury since being hit on June 10.

But the American lead was short-lived. Arda Güler found the back of the net in the 10th minute before Orkun Kökçü struck in the 31st to put Turkey ahead 2-1 in the first half.
