Pakistan calls for a ceasefire in Sudan

The United Nations:

Pakistan has called on Sudan’s war -leading parties to engage in the negotiations to end a conflict that has lasted for over 21 months, emphasizing that the suffering of the Sudanese people must come to an end.

“We encourage both sides to implement the obligations filed under the Jeddah Declaration on the Protection of Civilians and Relief of Humanitarian Efforts to Meet the Pressing Needs of the Sudanese Population,” said Ambassador Munir Akram, Pakistan’s permanent representative of the united Nations, in his speech to the UN Security Council.
