NEW Strands today (game #846) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #846, are…
- PENTHOUSE
- STUDIO
- CEILING
- FLAT
- CONDO
- EFFICIENCY
- SPANGRAM: OPPORTUNITIES
- My assessment: Easy
- My score: Perfect
I was able to wind my way around this board after seeing PENTHOUSE almost immediately – this is not strictly true, I first saw “house” and then “pent” attached to it.
This game also featured some great non-game words, including an alternative form of accommodation for people who can’t afford APARTMENTS.
The only place I struggled with was with EFFICIENCY – a term I was unfamiliar with as this type of small one-man flat is called a “bedsit” in the UK, as featured in the excellent 1981 synth-pop hit Bed maid by Soft Cell, which perfectly sums up single life in Bedsit Land.
Yesterday’s NYT Strand’s Answer (Friday, June 26, Game #845)
- PASS
- HORN
- THREE
- BROTHERS
- TROLL
- BRIDGE
- SPANGRAM: BILLYGOATSGRUFF
