EastEnders Star Natalie Cassidy has been left devastated after her nine-year-old daughter was rushed to hospital with a serious injury.
Cassidy, known for her role as Sonia Fowler in the long-running BBC soap EastEndersrecently detailed the incident about her Life with Nat podcast. The 43-year-old British actress revealed that her daughter Joanie, who she shares with fiance Marc Humphreys, recently broke her arm after slipping in the hallway before a PE class at school.
Cassidy said she had a “nervous breakdown” when her daughter underwent the surgery just weeks after having surgery on the same arm. She said, “Same arm, smashed to pieces. General anesthesia, same operation.”
“I’m speechless. It’s so traumatic,” Cassidy added as she described her situation after learning about Joanie’s arm.
She continued: “I wasn’t in a good place. Just her little body – and the medicine and the trauma of it all.”
She said all of her daughter’s blood tests were “absolutely perfect,” but she was tested for “some kind of deficiency” that could make her more susceptible to bone damage.
The update comes months after Cassidy made headlines for backing proposed restrictions on social media use among under-16s, after being “appalled” by what the algorithm shows to children.
