The incident came just two days after a roof collapse at an educational center in Lahore’s Kahna area claimed the lives of 14 children. The police filed a criminal case against property owners and a construction worker.

Police named four suspects in the case: three brothers – Usman, Faizan and Rehan – who own the property, and Umair, a construction worker who was doing repairs on the building.

The FIR stated that repair work was carried out while children were attending classes inside the building. Construction material had reportedly been placed on the roof of the room used as a teaching center, although the roof was already in a dilapidated condition.
