ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair a high-level meeting in Quetta on Thursday (today) on the law and order situation in Balochistan during a day-long visit to the provincial capital, Express News reported.
The Prime Minister will also preside over a meeting of the provincial Apex Committee. The meeting will review the overall law and order situation in the province, while the relevant authorities will brief the Prime Minister on the prevailing security situation.
Balochistan this week three major terrorist attacks in which 42 security personnel and civilians were martyred in different parts of the province. The military said on Wednesday that counter-terrorism operations in response to the attacks had killed 54 terrorists.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti led a rally in Ziarat after nine policemen were martyred in a terrorist attack. In a statement, Bugti warned that anyone who challenges the state summons will only face defeat and destruction.
The chief minister confirmed that indiscriminate operations against terrorists and their facilitators will continue until the last militant is eliminated. He emphasized that those who take up arms against the state will find no refuge in Balochistan.
Bugti stressed that there will be no compromise on the peace, stability and development of Balochistan and any conspiracy against the province will be crushed with strength, determination and national unity.
