Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have been reunited with their grandfather King Charles for the first time in four years.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that the “private family event” took place on Friday July 10 at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, where the King and Queen Camilla welcomed Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children.
The long-awaited reunion was held behind closed doors, with palace officials making it clear that no photographs will be released and no further details will be shared.
The meeting marks Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, seeing King Charles, 77, in person for the first time since 2022, when they traveled to Britain to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee but did not attend any public events.
Harry, 41, had returned to Britain earlier this week for a series of charity commitments, including the one-year countdown event to the Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Meghan, 44, and the children were originally expected to accompany him, but uncertainty over security arrangements cast doubt on those plans.
Friday’s private gathering ultimately made that reunion possible, allowing the Sussex children to spend time with their grandfather away from the public eye.
