Developer Hazelight has released new details about its upcoming title Split fictionthat highlights the game’s optional side content.
Split fiction were revealed during the game Awards 2024 and like the study’s critically acclaimed hit, It takes twoPlayers can expect a similar Co-Op Split-Screen Platforming Adventure, this time from the perspective of two fiction writers, Mio and Zoe, who are being caught in their own stories.
In the latest gameplay -trailer highlighted Hazelight Split fiction‘s optional side content called side stories described as “deviations” that can be accessed through portals that exist worldwide.
These portals are “attempts from the simulation to steal unfinished stories and ideas that Mio and Zoe wrote when they were younger, which led to some really weird, wonderful and chaotic situations”, according to Hazelight in a new blog post and offering new ways of play in co-op.
Some side stories that players will be able to uncover appear in the trailer and appear to contain challenging scenarios based on Mio and Zoe’s respective imagination and sci-fi stories.
A quest will require players to climb up a mountain filled with giants, another to raise a sandfish over a desert and even snowboard down a mountain while performing tricks under heavy fire.
Hazelight also teased other side stories that make players “become pigs and find out exactly how sausages are made”, chasing enemies while water skiing and exploring the depth of space on a space walk has gone wrong.
“As these stories have been deeply influenced by our writers’ past, they will experience long ago forgotten ideas and secrets about themselves,” the study said.
“When a side story is completed, our characters return through the portal to the main level, where they first entered the meeting, filled with even greater willingness to escape from Rader’s machine with their memories and stories intact … so go back to our originally Question, are you up to the challenge?
Split Fiction will be released on March 6, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series and PC. Pre -orders are now available.
