JJ Watt calls out Real Salt Lake for rejecting his wife Kealia Ohai

A former professional footballer was stiffed in a post on social media, taking a back seat to her relatively more famous husband.

Future Pro Football Hall of Famer JJ Watt is married to Kealia Ohai Watt, a former member of the US Women’s National Team who played in the National Women’s Soccer League.

The pair attended an MLS match on Wednesday night, where they saw Real Salt Lake take on Burnley FC, of ​​which Watts is part owner, and the team welcomed the pair with an X post.

However, Watt was not happy that his wife, a local football legend, was dismissed. Ohai attended Alta High School in nearby Sandy and won four state titles with his youth soccer club.

“The woman in the picture literally grew up, won 4 Utah State championships (1 in this exact stadium), Gatorade Player of the Year two times, National Player of the Year, scored the fastest first goal in USWNT history… Could probably be worth mentioning, but idk,” Watt said in a response.

Ohai also won a national championship with the University of North Carolina.

After college, she was the second overall pick in the NWSL College Draft by the Houston Dash, who she captained from 2016 until being traded to the Chicago Red Stars in 2020.

The pair bought their stake in Burnley FC, who played in the Premier League last season, in 2023.
