Leadership directed party workers to intensify campaign by launching extensive door-to-door outreach efforts
MUZAFFARABAD:
The central leadership of PML-N on Friday held a central consultative meeting with party leaders to review the arrangements for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to AJK and preparations for the party’s election campaign.
The meeting decided that Nawaz, who is also the PML-N president, would address two major public rallies in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur during his visit to the region. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is also expected to accompany him at both gatherings.
The participants reviewed the party’s election campaign, organizational coordination, arrangements for the rallies and its overall election strategy.
The leadership directed party workers to intensify the campaign by launching a massive door-to-door outreach effort and mobilizing supporters across the region ahead of the polls.
Addressing the gathering, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam said that the PML-N would wage a vigorous election campaign in AJK, adding that resolving public issues and ensuring the region’s development and prosperity remained the party’s foremost priorities.
He said that the PML-N government had completed several major development projects in AJK and noted that the Prime Minister had announced the establishment of Daanish schools in the area without any formal request from the AJK government.
Muqam stressed the importance of holding timely, free and transparent elections, describing them as the most effective way to solve the problems of the people. He said that the PML-N leadership had a long-standing commitment to the people of Kashmir and had always stood by them in difficult times.
At the end of the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that the party would secure victory in the 27 July 2026 AJK general election due to its record of public service, development agenda and governance.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah, Muqam, PML-N AJK President Ghulam Qadir, Raja Farooq Haider, Captain (Retd) Muhammad Safdar and other leaders.
