Prince Harry, who returned to the US this week after a week-long trip to the UK, was reportedly fitted with extensive security throughout his stay.
The Duke of Sussex’s visit to the UK was largely due to confusion over his safety as he was focused on ensuring his family’s protection while in the country.
After Buckingham Palace announced that a reunion between King Charles and the Sussexes had taken place, a friend of the duke told the newspaper that security had indeed been “enhanced” for his return to the UK this time.
“He would have wanted full security from the start, but that was not on the table,” they said.
“But what was on the table was a considerable increase over what was there previously. Therefore, the visit was much better and everything is in a better place. It is still baby steps, but there is reason to hope going forward,” the insider told the paper. Daily Mail.
Harry was under the impression that his wish for his own private security to receive intelligence from the security services would be granted.
In another boost to the Duke’s safety hopes, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said GB News nothing is set in stone and indicated that the situation could change, adding: “Security issues are very much at the fore at the moment. The situation is unsatisfactorily unresolved.”
He continued: “I think people believed, and I thought he would get it at some point because safety is very much in the news at the moment, so it can happen.”
The situation remains unresolved, but Harry can be encouraged by the potential improvements in security and hopes for a more positive outcome ahead of his next trip, in September.
