“There’s more where that came from” can be a threat of further punishment or a promise of more pleasure, depending on the circumstances.
This line of thinking got me nowhere, though, and it wasn’t until a hint gave me EXTRA that I realized we were looking for words that were synonyms for “supplementary”—since there’s more where that came from, whether you need it or not.
I have a friend who runs a company called EXCESS so it was embarrassing not to see it while the spanframe eluded me as well. Not my best games.

What is NYT Strands?
Strands is the NYT’s not-so-new-anymore word game, following Wordle and Connections. It’s now a full-fledged member of NYT’s game stable that’s been running for a year and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
