Oracle awarded 10-year, $7 billion Pentagon deal to supply Department of War with vital software and services

  • Pentagon awards Oracle first-ever direct award contract
  • Nearly $7 billion in existing Oracle licenses are consolidated into a single contract vehicle
  • The contract is expected to provide $441 million in savings by unifying technology purchases

The US Department of War (DoW) has awarded Oracle a nearly $7 billion contract as part of the Arsenal of Freedom to provide the department with enterprise software and services.

The contract is one of the largest Enterprise Software Agreements (ESA) ever issued by the Department and is the first contract ever under direct award. It is expected to provide at least $441 million in savings by “consolidating fragmented, one-time information technology purchases into a single, single award contract.”
