Rich Paul, who has been instrumental in pushing James to land with the Philadelphia 76ers in a buzzing free agency period.
LeBron James’ longtime friend and agent, Rich Paul, has spilled the beans on what really happened the night the former decided to choose Philly.
Rich Paul, who also hosts a podcast, Game Over with Max Kellerman revealing that “James’ decision was an emotional rollercoaster that ended at midnight.”
Appearing on the latest episode of Game Over on Saturday 25th July.
Paul revealed that James decided at 1 ET on Friday, July 24 to sign with the 76ers.
Adding that James was left with three teams: Cleveland, the Heat and the Warriors.
The decision becomes difficult when it comes to choosing between a new team such as the Sixers or Warriors and returning to the Cavs or Heat.
“Who wouldn’t want to play with Steph Curry and Draymond Green. I see that emotional roller coaster every single day.”
What really inspired the NBA superstar to join the 76ers was Jaylen Brown’s transfer to the Celtics on July 1st.
“At the end of the day, Philadelphia makes a move and then boom! Now you have Jaylen Brown,” Paul said.
Paul, while confirming rumors that the four-time NBA champion was in his sixties and seventies when it comes to deciding on free agency for the fifth time in his career.
James went “back and forth” several times Thursday, the night before the NBA world learned where King James would land.
The 41-year-old James signed a two-year deal worth 8 million on Friday, July 24, with a player option and a whopping 15% trade kicker.
