ISPR says the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral defense cooperation
US lawmakers on Monday recognized Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience in a meeting with Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, the military’s media wing said.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Member of the House of Representatives (State of Montana) Ryean Keith and Member of the House of Representatives (State of Washington) Michael James called on CDF Munir at the headquarters, Rawalpindi.
“The visiting lawmakers recognized Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and economic resilience. Both sides also explored opportunities to strengthen bilateral trade, private sector partnerships and broader economic engagement,” the statement said.

The ISPR said the discussions during the meeting focused on issues of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defense cooperation and opportunities to enhance economic cooperation and prosperity,” it said.
IT further added that CDF Munir highlighted Pakistan’s immense economic potential and emphasized that sustainable regional stability was deeply rooted in economic growth, trade expansion and connectivity.
“He emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms aimed at promoting a business-friendly environment and attracting foreign investment,” it added.
The US delegation thanked the military leadership for its hospitality and expressed a shared commitment to strengthening economic, commercial and institutional ties between the US and Pakistan.

Pakistan and the United States have maintained a long-standing relationship spanning security, counter-terrorism, trade, investment and regional stability. While bilateral ties have seen periods of cooperation and strain over the decades, both countries have continued to engage through diplomatic, military and economic channels.
More recently, Islamabad and Washington have sought to strengthen ties following the US-Iran standoff, with Pakistan supporting diplomatic efforts that contributed to a ceasefire. Since then, US President Donald Trump has publicly acknowledged Pakistan’s role and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and CDF Munir for their efforts.
