The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Tuesday that the death toll from rains, flash floods and landslides across the country has risen to 110 during the ongoing monsoon season.
The NDMA said in a briefing to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that around 360 people have been injured in rain-triggered incidents across the country since June 26, while nearly 800 houses have been damaged.

Most of the deaths were reported in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, followed by Punjab.
The NDMA warned that several parts of the country could face flash floods and glacial lake outbursts over the next month due to rapidly melting glaciers in northern areas.
Prime Minister Shehbaz ordered authorities to use “all available” resources, including early warning systems, to mitigate the impact of rains and floods.
Pakistan experiences heavy monsoon rains each year, typically from late June to September, often triggering widespread flooding and extensive property damage.
Weather officials have predicted another spell of heavy rain over northern and southern Pakistan for the next two days.

A day earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted a heavy monsoon spell from July 29 that could affect Islamabad, upper Punjab, KP, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and the upper catchment areas of rivers. According to PMD, the fresh period is expected to last until August 5. The weather department also warned that the upcoming monsoon system was expected to trigger urban flooding and rising water levels in rivers, hill streams and nullahs.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Home Ministry has imposed Section 144 across the province, banning swimming, bathing and unauthorized boating at various water bodies for 60 days.
