Jared Leto denies a series of sexual abuse allegations detailed in a new BBC documentary.
According to the documentary, which was released on Friday, July 29, four women accused the Oscar-winning actor and musician of wrongdoing involving them when they were teenagers — claims Leto has firmly denied.
In a statement to The Associated Press, Leto, 54, responded: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These allegations are absolutely and categorically false.”
The BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s dark secretinvestigating allegations from 2002 to 2016. The women, whose identities were not fully disclosed, accused the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman of various forms of sexual misconduct, including assault, statutory rape, sexually explicit phone calls and threatening behavior.
The BBC said it corroborated the women’s accounts, although The Associated Press reported that it could not independently confirm the allegations.
According to BBCLeto did not respond to requests for comment before the documentary aired.
The documentary follows a separate report published by Air mail last year, when nine women also accused Leto of misconduct. A representative for the actor denied these allegations at the time.
