5G connection on your smart ring or Meta’s future beam ban? This eSIM solution that is less than a grain of rice makes it possible and could pave the way to an ‘app store’ of network

  • Infineons OC1230 is less than 4 mm^2, less than a grain of rice
  • You can fit nearly 40 of them in a nano sim, the smallest physical SIM card on the market
  • Infineon says it could fit in laptops such as smart glasses or rings

Infineon Technologies has revealed the world’s smallest GSMA -compatible eSIM resolution -with dimensions of only 1.8 x 1.6 x 0.4 mm, Optiga Connect consumer OC1230 Less than a grain of rice and reduces printed circuit card (PCB) space requirement.

For scale, it is also 37 times less than industrial standard Nano SIM and 130 times less than a standard SIM.
