Lahore:

Preliminary findings suggest that driver errors may have played a role in the derailure of Shalimar Express in Lahore, according to rail sources.

A four-member investigation committee has been composed and includes the Deputy Chief Engineering Bridge, Deputy Manager Mechanical, Deputy Chief Engineering and Deputy Manager for Chief Manager.

The study team has collected evidence, conducted thorough inspections of the railway tracks and the bridge and reviewed CCTV recordings. Statements from the train’s driver, guards, eyewitnesses and other staff have also been registered.
