Some parents may think Ed McCaffrey has a tough task on his hands, but he has an easy solution.
The three-time Super Bowl champion has two sons, Christian and Luke, who play in the NFL, and another, Max, Coaching in it.
No, McCaffrey hasn’t been in the shoes, for example, the Kelce family picking between his boys in the Super Bowl… yet.

But he has seen two of his sons on the field at the same time – Christian’s Niners and Max’s dolphins faced in December, and by 2026 Luke’s commanders will go up towards San Fran.
So who did it and will he root for?
“They’re all equal. I love all my kids evenly, man,” he said in a recent interview with Pakinomist Digital. “It’s a sensitive thing that Dad – occasionally my children’s teams play each other. But I root for my children.”
So yes, McCaffrey has three favorite teams. He admitted that Denver Broncos, where he spent nine of his 13 seasons and won two of his three Super Bowls, has been left out of the rotation, despite being his “extended family.”
“I still root to broncos, but I rooted first for my children,” he admitted.
McCaffrey was unable to make very root for Christian, his middle son, on the field this season. After winning the offensive player of the year last year, CMC looked at only four matches in the 2024 campaign. He missed most of training camp and the first eight games of the season with Achilles Tendinitis. Then, in a snowy buffalo, he injured his knee.

“Yes, the year really sucked,” McCaffrey said the mute. “You put everything you have to get ready for season and then he was injured early in training camp … and he did everything he could to get back on the field, as fate would have it, he did evil in the knee. ”
But even though he couldn’t cheer for his son on the field, he was definitely able to.
“Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned. I’m so proud of him for his resilience, his toughness, the guy will be on the field more than anyone I’ve met throughout my life,” added McCaffrey.
The knee injury, said McCaffrey, could also be a blessing in disguise in the 2025 season.
