The federal cabinet has reportedly approved the inauguration of the military to provide security for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which ensures the security of the event,
The decision was made in accordance with Article 245 of the Constitution that authorizes the military’s commitment to security issues, which Express News cited sources.
As part of the security events, a joint effort will be made by civilian armed forces, police and other law enforcement authorities to protect the teams and venues during the event.
Champions Trophy will see that international teams arrive in Pakistan on February 12, and security measures are introduced in coordination with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the provincial governments of Punjab and Sindh.
The Ministry of Department has issued directives to various departments to ensure the top level of the teams and officials throughout the duration of the tournament.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium inaugurated Friday, marking a new chapter in his 65-year-old history, just days before the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
The event included performances by Ali Zafar, Arif Lohar, Aima Baig, a drum performance and fireworks.
In his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz praised the efforts of the renovation team, including PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
