The audience at the 16th hole at the Waste Management Open was itching for a reason to celebrate.
And Emiliano Grillo’s hole in the second round Friday gave fans on the rooted hole in golf a reason to get lost.
Grillo was 1-under couple and then pulled off his best Steph Curry impression.

From 155 meters out, Grillo dived the ball into the hole, as clean as Curry would seam a deep 3-pointer. The bullet rattled around the hole, but never hit the green.
When the ball hit the hole, chaos followed.
Grillo turned his club in the air and didn’t know what to do, ran around the tee box before embracing in a Midair jump with colleague golfer Rafael Campos.

In waves, fans began to launch beer cans and cups on the field for celebration.
The security of the 16th hole did best to try to control things, but it was ignored by the crazy fans who continued to launch drinks on the field.
It was the 12th ace in the 16th story, and the fans loved it.

They broke into song and jumped up and down, reminiscent of a college football stadium before a rivalry game.
Campos put hit after Grillo, but it took him a little to step up to the box because garbage had to be cleared from the hole.
Grillo is an over pair in the third round through four holes and is 1 under par for the tournament in general.
