Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to rush to convene an organization of Islamic cooperation (OIC) meeting with foreign ministers to tackle the ongoing development in Gaza.

This decision came during a telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Monday, Radio Pakistan reported.

The discussions followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s provocative remarks about Palestinians who were heavily condemned by Dar.

He confirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as its steadfast support for the Palestinian case.

Prince Faisal expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent and time -tested support and highlighted the importance of the continuing conditions of the two nations.

Earlier, in a separate conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Dar Pakistan repeated the unwavering attitude of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on borders before 1967 with al-Qd’s al-Sharif as its capital.

Both foreign ministers exchanged views on the Middle East situation, especially with a focus on disorders from Palestinians in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia also condemned Netanyahu’s remarks that suggested the displacement of Palestinians, giving a statement that rejects any view of a Palestinian state in the Saudi territory.

This controversy began when Netanyahu seemed to joke during an interview, hinting at a “Saudi state” instead of a “Palestinian state” before he quickly corrected himself.
