Patrick Mahomes’ loss in the Super Bowl Lix to Philadelphia Eagles dropped him to 3-2 in the Super Bowls since taking the reins as Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback.
On Sunday, Mahomes had one of the worst games he has ever had. Eagles ‘defense of the Chiefs’ offensive line and rattled mahomes early and often. He was fired six times, threw two interceptions and lost a fumble. His QB assessment was 11.4 for the game.

The game was on par with his performance against Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl LV. He was fired three times and threw two interceptions and ended with a QB rating of 42.2.
The NFL Pundits began to question Mahomes’ inheritance in the immediate demand for the game. While there were comparisons to Tom Brady who went into the game where some thought Mahomes would be in his stratosphere with a third title in a row, the loss – for some – diminished his standing so badly that the gap between both is almost invincible.
Former Chief’s offensive Lineman Mitchell Schwartz had none of it. He defended Mahomes in posts on social media on Tuesday.

“Tiger missed cuts in majors, even at the height of his powers. Brady had a 16-0 team and lost to a 10-6 team. Missed the final game in his 2nd year start. Lost more playoff games for teams , threw after less than 100 yards, but it doesn’t matter b/c, it wasn’t in the Super Bowl?

“The dynamics have become very strange where you not only have to win #ringz, but you also get anchored this bad for a Super Bowl loss when you do unprecedented thing within 30 years. Brady is the most skilled QB ever, it’s It takes years to compare their resume.
When Brady lost against New York Giants in 2007, Schwartz pointed out, pundits did not jump on his legacy and asked his resume. He complained about the “reactionary” state of the media.
“It feels like we are trying to mix MJ and Brady and hold Pat to this standard. No one repeats 6-0,” he wrote. “Brady did not. No one else will, especially in football. Football is too interconnected, 1 game is too small. Jordan had 7 games to make sure his team won. For different.”
Schwartz asked speaking heads to “pump the brakes” on comparison and inheritance conversations.
Mahomes has plenty of time to catch Brady – if that’s the target. Brady was 32 years old when he reached his fifth Super Bowl and fell to 3-2 when his patriots lost for Giants for the second time.
Brady went 10 years without winning another. The Patriots defeated Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl XLIX thanks to an interception from Malcolm Butler at the end of the game.
Mahomes promised to recover and bring back Chiefs to honor.
“I let you down today. I will always continue to work and try to learn and be better for it,” he wrote at X. “Will thank God for every opportunity he has given me.
