Sher Afzal Marwat, the former member of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), caused a vote in the National Assembly with his light-hearted, yet pointed remark, “Mujhe Kyun Nikala?” (Why I was removed?) After his expulsion from the party.
His question that repeated his frustration over his removal received laughter from government lawmakers and a mixture of reactions across the assembly.
Marwat, known for his frequent appearances through the opposition gate, went into the entrance for Treasury members, leading to a desk from government members.
This got a remark from the speaker of the National Assembly, who ghostly warned, “Don’t get him in trouble.”
During the question and questions of the session, the speaker Marwat asked to comment on the merger of mobile companies.
Instead of taking up the question, Marwat returned the conversation to his expulsion and asked, “Why was I removed?” His question was met with laughter from the government side, while PTI legislators chose to be silent.
Marwat’s words were met with song by government members, including slogans such as “Why was Marwat removed?” And “suppressors, answer us! Give Marwat Justice! “
When he discovered the PTI parliamentary leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Marwat appealed to government members for support.
During the session, PML-N’s Hanif Abbasi Marwat reassured with a light-hearted gesture and said, “We stand with you and we will help you send you back to PTI.”
Marwat’s deportation from PTI came after repeated violations of party discipline. However, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur has called on Imran Khan to consider Marwat’s deportation and reintroduce him in the party fold.
Sher Afzal Marwat had, a day earlier, publicly approached his expulsion from PTI, which was executed under orders from PTI Foundation Chairman Imran Khan.
In a long social media post, Marwat expressed deep disappointment over his expulsion and emphasized his unwavering loyalty to PTI and Imran Khan’s leadership.
He mentioned that the decision seemed to be influenced by persons who never accepted him within the party, but assured his supporters that he had never been involved in personal disputes or internal fractionism.
Instead, he always stood at the vision of Imran Khan and prioritized the party’s unity rather than personal conflicts.
Marwat recognized the difficulties facing IMRAN KHAN, including limited access to information and the presence of certain persons whose actions were harmful to the party’s interests.
In a firm attitude, Marwat said that although he would accept PTI’s decision with dignity, if the party did not reconsider, he would never ask for grace. He strongly urged PTI leaders and workers to speak against injustice and remain united, especially when facing difficult times.
PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan instructed party leaders to exhibit a member of the National Assembly (MNA) Sher Afzal Marwat from the party.
The decision follows internal dissatisfaction with Marwat’s actions during the Swabi collection, which gets more complaints to Imran Khan from party members.
Last month, PTI had released a show to Sher Afzal Marwat for violation of party discipline.
In a message, the PTI management reprimanded Party leader Sher Afzal Marwat, known for his fiery oratorium, to make statements as opposed to the party’s official attitude.
