Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has said the company will continue to put PlayStation and Nintendo Logos in its trailers to be “transparent” with its audience.
In a new interview with Xboxera, Spencer discussed the company’s recent decision to start showing the logos to PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Steam in his trailers during larger showcases. For example, the latest video behind the scenes to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33which was released under the Xbox Developer Direct last month.
Although it has probably moved in the light of Microsoft’s running push with multiple platforms, the Xbox chief said it is to be more honest about where players can buy their games.
“I think it’s just being honest and transparent about where the games are showing, and we actually even had this discussion last year to June -exhibition window, and when we kind of made our decision we couldn’t get all the assets done, And it felt weird to have some of them in and some of them out, ”Spencer said.
“But I just want to be transparent with people – for shipping at Nintendo Switch, We Want to Put It able to experience our Xbox community in our games and everything we have to offer on every screen we can.
Spencer continued and recognized that not every console is equal, and “there are certain things we can’t do on the other closed platforms that we can do on open platforms,” like Cloud Gaming, but said it’s the games , there should be the main focus.
“The strategy we have allows us to make big games, while we also support our original platform from hardware to the platform and services we have and that will be our approach,” he added.
“And I know that’s not what everyone else is doing, but I just think games should be what’s in the lead. Maybe that’s because of how I grew up in this industry. I came from that Build games.
