Blockchain Bridging Protocol Layerzero to connect to Bitcoin SideChain Rootstock

Layerzero, the brodge -forming protocol that allows different crypto networks to communicate with each other, plans to connect to Bitcoin SideChain Rootstock in what would be its first integration with the world’s original blockchain.

Rootstock aims to end Bitcoin’s “Insulation” from other blockchains because of its lack of native smart contracts, a barrier that Layerzero is capable of addressing, according to an E -mail message shared with Coindesk on TK.

Bitcoin Blockchain lacks the functionality of offering smart contracts that other blockchains have and which are basic building’s decentralized financing services (DEFI).

This deficiency of Defi on Bitcoin, which has more value, like any other blockchain combined, is an obstacle to even greater adoption. It asks developers to seek ways to utilize the massive liquidity held in Bitcoin (BTC) and leave it to the rest of the cryptover.

With the connection between Rootstock and Layerzero, developers would be able to build applications on the Bitcoin Sidekin that can communicate with the over 100 other blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana, Rootstock said in the message.
