Netflix’s ‘Full Swing’ never got before seen recordings of Scottie Scheffler’s arrest

Season 3 of Netflix’s “Full Swing” is out now, and it gave Golffans everywhere an inner look at one of the wildest stories the sport has ever seen.

While on his way to his second round of the PGA championship in May, the world # 1 and reigning Masters -Masters Scottie Scheffler was arrested and faced four charges, including assaults on a police officer.

It came from a deadly accident outside Valhalla Golf Club, while Scheffler tried to get to the course with a great security presence due to the accident.

Scheffler later called it a “great misunderstanding.”

Netflix acquired additional recordings of Scheffler’s arrest, including Bodycam recordings.

“I’m very sorry. I’m just trying to get to my tee time. I hold my arms back there, I promise,” Scheffler said when he was handcuffed.

Other recordings show Scheffler asking someone to “help” him, and he asked another officer if they were “able to just speak for a moment.”

“Are you aware that I play in the golf tournament?” Scheffler added. Apparently an officer wasn’t.

“I guess you’re pretty good if you’re playing in PGA,” an officer said.

Scheffler humbly replied, “Yes, I’m well.”

“I want to be honest. I didn’t think this was a position I would ever be in,” Scheffler told an officer on his way back to Valhalla.

“Usually people never do,” the officer replied.

Scheffler even cracked a joke that he would only have mouthwash as “I try not to drink too much until I have to play golf at 8”

“I didn’t know you were # 1 in the world right now. You’re too relaxed to be # 1 player in the world,” an officer said while escorting Scheffler to the course.

“I think that’s why they are so surprised that I was arrested,” replied the golfer.

Scheffler was later booked and released and came to the course with time left.

“I freaked out because I somehow went from driving to the golf course to a prison cell, and I still don’t really know how it happened exactly. I don’t think it really ever felt right,” Scheffler told the producers for documentary.

Less than two weeks later, all charges against Scheffler were pledged. And he randomly shot 66 a few hours after his arrest. He sputtered a little in his last two rounds, but he still managed to bind to eighth at 13-Under this weekend.

Xander SchaUffele won his first of two majors in his career, the second was the open championship later that July.
