PM Shehbaz promises to bring Azerbaijan’s One-Stop Public Service Model to Islamabad

Tashkent: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited “Asan Khidmat” (Asan Xidmat) Center in Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday and paid tribute to the plant, offering over 400 services to the residents, while also expressing plans to repeat the model in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister, who was on a two-day visit to the Central Asian country, toured at the center of the country’s capital, which contains modern technology and “excellent” human resources, as he said reflected foresight and dynamics in Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

“I also visited a startup center Innoland, where young and volunteers are actively engaged. It is one of the most modern centers I have visited across the globe. Full grades go to my brother Ilham Aliyev for his thoughtful and visionary leadership,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz.

The premiere emphasized that although there are similar centers in Pakistan, such as those in Punjab, Baku’s Asan Khidmat Center differs through its scale and advanced service systems that effectively meet the needs of citizens.

“We would very much like to take advantage of Azerbaijan’s experience. I would be happy to have a copy of this in Islamabad,” he said.

Shehbaz said Pakistan would like to start a pilot project in Islamabad based on the ASAN KHIDMAT model and that his country would sign an agreement with Azerbaijan to take advantage of their experience.

He also invited a team from the center to visit Pakistan to explore collaborative opportunities.

During the visit, the President of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation welcomed Ulvi Mehdiyev welcome to the Prime Minister.

During the briefing, he said Asan Khidmat had become a famous institution because of its excellent performance in providing effective public services. He said the one-stop model facilitates the supply of public services and gives citizens access to over 400 services from 30 governments and 15 private institutions, all under one roof.

Mehdiyev informed the Prime Minister that the center was launched as part of extensive institutional management reforms that ensure transparent, responsible and effective supply of public services where citizens’ feedback plays a crucial role in creating improvements.

PM Shehbaz was also informed about the Mobile Asan Khidmat service, which includes specially designed buses and a train and delivery of important public services directly to local communities. Later, Prime Minister Baku left for Tashkent for a two-day visit.

The premiere visits the Central Asian Nation on invitation by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz visited the independence monument in Tashkent and made a wreath at the monument, which denotes Uzbekistan’s rich history and its journey towards sovereignty.

He also expressed admiration for Uzbekistan’s progress and resilience and drew parallels with Pakistan’s struggle for independence and development.

“The independence monument stands as a testimony to the Uzbek people’s courage and determination. Pakistan and Uzbekistan share a common vision of peace, prosperity and regional connection. In addition, he will visit Techno Park in Tashkent to observe Uzbekistan’s construction industry. The Prime Minister is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister of Trade Jam Kamal Khan, Investment Minister and Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister of Information and TV -Casting Attaullah Tarar and special assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi.
