Avalanche Foundation, the non-profit that helps the steward the development of Avalanche Blockchain, said its highly expected Avalanche card, a VISA credit card that allows users to buy goods with their cryptocurrency, is live and Ready to be used.
The card was developed in collaboration with Rain, a blockchain-based map-issuing platform. It allows users to spend their Avalanche -Tokens (Avax), wrapped Avax and StableCoins USDT and USDC in any store taking VISA, the fund said in an E email. It’s good for personal or online transactions.
While other teams have also released credit card tied to a user’s crypto holdings, the news signales the further integration between traditional economic technologies and cryptocurrency.
The Avalanche Foundation said in October that it was planning to introduce the card with a focus on registration of users from Latin America and the Caribbean. In Tuesday’s statement, the team said sign -ups were accelerated in this region as well as Southeast Asia and Africa.
According to the card web site, the credit card will be linked to users’ new self -insurance wallet and unique address per assets. “
“In a step to double the mainstream -adoption of decentralized financing (DEFI), Avalanche remains obliged to operate available blockchain intervention for any type of user,” the team said.
