Moon not seen, Ramazan to begin tomorrow

Peshawar:

The Ruet-in-Hilal Committee announced that the Moon for the Month of the Ramazan Month was not seen on Friday and that the Holy Month will begin from Sunday.

The committee issued the message after its Peshawar meeting.

“No acceptable and Sharia-compatible testimony of moonlight from any part of Pakistan,” said committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, adding that after reaching a consensus, it was decided that the first day of the Holy Month will land on Sunday.

However, Ramazan Crescent was seen in Saudi Arabia, where the fasting month begins on March 1, Saturday, Arab News reported.

It was also seen in UAE according to National Daily.
