I have a relative who would have been triggered by today’s puzzle as they suffer from poumpounophobia.
In their case, it is not so much a fear of the button as much as disgust for its small plastic with the Itty Bitty holes.
You would think that this would result in not having any clothes that have buttons and that they would order a whole wardrobe with clothes using Voncro Woncro but you would have wrong. It’s very confusing.
By examining their condition, it turned out that their real phobia was not buttons at all was a shift, and it is far easier to avoid as long as you avoid campsites and the deep-sea fishing industry.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s new word game after Wordle and Connections. It is now out of beta, so it is a fully developed member of Nyt’s Games Stable and can be played on the new Games site on desktop or mobile.
